From around 10am a Celtic procession of Bards from Gorsedh Kernow will parade from Church Street directly outside our Office on Duke Street to the bandstand on Padstow Harbour.
The proclamation will take place at around 10.30 and lasts around 30 minutes, before the procession leaves the harbour.

What is the Proclamation?
Padstow Town Mayor James O’Keefe will welcome the Gorsedh – a horn will sound to the four parts of Cornwall for a cry to Peace.
It is the announcement by Gorsedh Kernow that:
Padstow will be hosting A Celebration of Cornish Celtic Culture from Thursday 31st August until Saturday 2nd September 2023

The Gorsedh Ceremony – This wonderful ceremony includes the “Joining of the Sword “and the new Bards initiation. When newly awarded Bards will be initiated for their exceptional service to Cornwall, including those that in the opinion of the Gorsedh Council should be received as Bards of Honour and will be welcomed to the college of bards and given Bardic titles by the Grand Bard.
