Halloween at The Eden Project

Head over to The Eden Project, one of the UK’s most famous attractions, for Halloween this October half term. Not only will this huge environmental site be in the midst of autumn, with its trees vibrant and crisp and its tropical biomes inviting in the chill, but it will also be hosting fantastic half-term activities.

Stroll to the Myth and Folklore section of the Wild Edge outdoor gardens to see their whimsical display of home-grown pumpkins between rich vegetation and magical sculptures. Visit their indoor skating rink, the only one in Cornwall, for some fun on the ice, including a Halloween-themed skate event where everyone is encouraged to dress up! Seasonal events are included in the ticket price, and we recommend booking in advance to save £4 per ticket (under 5s always go free).

Flowers and Friendship Bracelets Concert

For an afternoon or evening of pure pop magic, head to the Hall for Cornwall for Flowers and Friendship Bracelets, an incredible concert for all the family! This tribute to modern pop music includes smash hits from Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Miley Cyrus, and Sabrina Carpenter. Are your kids Chappell Roan fans? We’re excited to announce that Cornwall is one of the limited locations where a tribute to this fan-favourite singer will also feature in the show. With colourful lights, sparkling costumes, dance parties, and the opportunity to get dressed up in the glitteriest garbs, this really is an unmissable show for young music lovers.

The shows are on Tuesday 28 October only, with one at 2pm and the other at 6pm. Tickets are selling fast, so get yours before they’re gone!

Newquay Zombie Crawl

Silly, spooky, and safe, Newquay’s Zombie Crawl always draws in the family crowds. This day of Halloween fun takes place in the centre of Newquay, which hosts various zombie workshops for all, including how to zombie-walk and monstrous makeup techniques. At 3pm, the main event begins, where everyone can join the parade and creep and crawl through the city in their finest zombie getup! This is a family-friendly event, so there’s no need to worry about young kids getting too spooked.

Where: Newquay town centre

Grand Fireworks Display at Lappa Valley

A wonderful way to round off a beautiful autumnal Cornish day, the Grand Fireworks Display at Lappa Valley is an October half-term must. Cornwall’s secret world of play and trains will welcome its first train of fireworks display guests at 5:30pm, where they’ll find The Engine Shed open and waiting for kids to play on the indoor play area. Visitors will also be able to ride the Lakeside Railway before the show begins at 7:30pm, too! The fireworks themselves will amaze and astound, captivating people of all ages with their bright and colourful brilliance. Tickets must be booked in advance for this event, so make sure you get yours early.

Lappa Valley is also open during the day in half-term with plenty to see and do, including special visitor Duggee from the CBeebies Show Hey Duggee on the 27th and 28th October.

The Spirit of Harvest at The Lost Gardens of Heligan

These stunning gardens are famous across the country, laid out in the classic 19th-century style with different sections boasting their own unique design, plants, and character. A wonderful destination all year round, we highly recommend a visit in autumn, when the leaves turn orange, the breeze is sweet and crisp, and The Spirit of Harvest is held. This celebration of autumn and harvest is truly a must-visit, as Heligan showcases and sells the bounty of its gardens and estate. Herbs, seeds, vegetables, fruits, metals, flowers, and timber will be on offer, every single piece grown and produced at Heligan.

You will not be disappointed by the incredible range on offer, so take the family on a calm and peaceful trip through the market and the grounds this October half-term.

Pumpkin Village at Camel Creek

Camel Creek Family Adventure Park is beloved across Cornwall, providing joy and entertainment for locals and visitors alike. During October half-term, the theme park hosts their Pumpkin Village event, celebrating autumn and spooky season in true Camel Creek style. Visit for family-friendly thrills and chills, take part in games and activities, and pick your own pumpkin to take away and decorate! We recommend booking your tickets to the park in advance to save with their online discount, but it is possible to turn up on the day for tickets, too.

When: 4 – 5 October, 11 – 12 October, 18 – 19 October, 22 – 31 October

Autumnal walks

For days away from crowds this October half-term, why not take a stroll through Cornwall’s stunning countryside? Our trees transform during autumn, turning a vibrant rainbow of oranges, reds, golds and browns, providing a beautiful backdrop for family walks.

Camelford Way

This circular walk is flat, with a mix of riverside walking and pavement walking. You’ll stroll through the picturesque market town of Camelford, through fields around Fenteroon Farm, and alongside the gorgeous River Camel. This walk is 1.8 miles/2.9 km, has no stiles to climb, and features access to pubs and cafes on the route.

Lerryn River and Tivoli Gardens

This riverside and woodland walk is a natural wonder, with plenty of stunning autumnal scenery, including giant ancient oak trees and Tivoli Gardens. Lerryn is thought to be the inspiration for The Wind In The Willows, so you know it’s going to be a beautiful sight! This 3.7 mile/5.9 km walk takes you through the village, where there are pubs and cafes for food and refreshments.

Golitha Falls and Siblyback Lake

This 6.1 mile/9.8 km walk takes you through the Golitha Falls National Nature Reserve and around Siblyback Lake. Rich and colourful during autumn, you’ll be treated to stunning woodland, riverside, and lakeside sights, as well as panoramic views for the perfect family photo opportunity. During autumn, it’s best to don your wellies or walking boots! You’ll find a cafe on this route too for a chance to rest and refuel.
