Father Christmas will be using his festive magic to appear all over Cornwall throughout November and December, ready to delight kids and grown-ups alike. Take a look through our post and find which Father Christmas events are happening near you, whether you’re local to Cornwall or visiting our beautiful county for Christmas.
Famous across Cornwall as the world of play and trains, you can enjoy Lappa Valley with some additional festive magic this season, as Father Christmas himself will be in attendance. Hop aboard the nostalgic train and hum along to festive tunes while kids write letters to Father Christmas and enjoy an activity book each. Once you disembark, head to Santa’s grotto to meet him and his helpful elves, where each child will receive a very special present, plus a cookie and a drink of hot chocolate or squash. The adults will receive their very own treat in the form of a mince pie and a hot chocolate, tea, or coffee.
Relaxed visits: Two trains will run for individuals with special educational needs and disabilities on 6th December at 2:30pm and 3:30pm. The timings for the grotto will be more relaxed, the main lights will stay switched on, flashes on cameras can be hidden, and smooth Christmas music will play quietly throughout the park. More appropriate gifts are available for children with additional needs – simply make a note in your booking or talk to the elves when you arrive at the grotto.

The Lost Gardens of Heligan are a truly magical place, and even more so at Christmas. This year, Father Christmas returns with his elves to meet children, hear their hopes and wishes, and tell festive stories. Once you arrive at Heligan, you’ll get into the Christmas spirit with crafts and music, plus complementary marshmallows for toasting over the fire! You’ll then be escorted to the Head Gardener’s Office, where Father Christmas has settled, the perfect cosy spot for chatting with Santa and taking photos. Finish your day with a stroll through the gardens and walk their Christmas family trail.

This picturesque sub-tropical garden is a wonderful place to visit Santa in Cornwall this year. You’ll find Father Christmas in his log cabin deep in the gardens, ready to regale children with a festive story. After, kids will receive a special gift, and you’ll have the chance to take some memorable festive photos. Before or after the Santa experience, explore the gardens and follow the children’s garden trail to complete your visit.
Relaxed visits: Trebah Garden relaxed sessions with Santa will cater to fewer people to create a calmer atmosphere on 13th to 14th December 2025.

This beautiful Cornish hotel and spa is hosting a magical Christmas experience in 2025. Each ticket for kids covers a special 30-minute Father Christmas experience, a small gift, access to the hotel’s Jungle Tumble soft play area, and lunch or dinner. This festive event is a wonderful chance to spend time with the family this festive season, and will leave you all with cherished memories and photos.

The beautiful Enys House and Gardens will again be home this year to Father Christmas. Visit for a true Christmas experience, including festive family crafts, eco-friendly activities, photo opportunities, a decorative memento gift for each child, and a new, original story told to the children by Father Christmas himself.
Enys Gardens will also be hosting its first-ever Christmas light trail through their spectacular gardens. The trail will be lit up in bright and twinkling lights, featuring shining installations along the way to enjoy. You can attend these events separately, or combine them both on the same evening to save some money on your tickets.
The organisers at Enys House understand that sometimes prices can be out of reach for some families. If you’d like to ask about their affordability discount, simply email them at [email protected] and they’ll send you a code for children’s tickets, no questions asked.
Relaxed visits: For those who would prefer a quieter, smaller, and more inclusive meeting with Father Christmas, choose one of the relaxed sessions. If an over-18 would like a gift, ensure you purchase them a child ticket. Relaxed sessions take place on the 6th – 7th, 13th – 14th, 21st – 23rd December at 10am.

Combine the exciting Eden Project experience with a very special visit with Father Christmas. This brand-new, interactive event is packed full of festive wonder, including theatrical storytelling, seasonal magic, and plenty of surprises. Families will be welcomed into the Vault of Christmas Magic for an enchanting look at behind-the-scenes of Father Christmas’s work, entertained with stories and performance, and then each child will be given a keepsake to cherish.
It’s worth noting that you need pre-booked tickets to see Father Christmas as well as a valid form of admission to The Eden Project, in order to attend.
Relaxed visits: For those who would prefer a more relaxed experience with fewer people, book one of the Eden Project’s relaxed Father Christmas visits on the 6th, 14th, 15th, and 23rd of December 2025.

For a truly unique Christmas experience like no other, head to Carnglaze Caverns, Cornwall’s most exciting underground attraction. These man-made caverns in a former slate mine will be lit up with sparkling lights, glowing projections, and twinkling installations, completely transforming the underground spaces. Meet Santa and his loyal elves in his underground grotto, where they’ll give each child a special gift during their short-but-sweet 5-minute visit. Don’t forget to wrap up warm – Father Christmas is bringing the chilly North Pole weather with him!

Trerice, a stunning Elizabethan manor house and gardens, is hosting Father Christmas this December to tell stories and share traditions of Christmases past. He’ll be in the manor’s magnificent Drawing Room, where children can gather and listen to his festive tales before receiving a special little present.

Spend four magical hours at Wheal Martyn this Christmas for some fun museum and woodland exploration, festive activities, and meeting Father Christmas himself. The visit will include making elf and reindeer crowns, creating Christmas wands, playing with clay, listening to an exciting Christmas story, walking the Angel and sensory Reindeer Trail, spending some time at the craft table, and dancing to the local choir and band. Children’s tickets include all this and a visit with Father Christmas and his elf, who will give each child a small gift.

This group family experience in the stable yard at Trelissick is the perfect Santa’s grotto alternative. This event features Father Christmas telling a special story of a Cornish Christmas from the stable yard, family activities and games, a Christmas trail, and carol singing. Each child will take home a small present to enjoy from Father Christmas. Trelissick’s story sessions will run between 10:15am and 2:45pm each day the event runs, with some 3:30pm sessions added closer to Christmas. Please note that you’ll need to purchase normal admission tickets to Trelissick as well to attend.

Bodmin and Wenford Railway are bringing back the well-loved and highly anticipated Santa by Steam event for 2025! Santa and his friendly elves board the train at Bodmin General Station to talk and travel with passengers to Bodmin Parkway and back. On this journey, he’ll stroll by and chat with families and give each child a present for them to enjoy alongside an activity sheet. Once you disembark, you’ll be able to capture the special Christmas memories at Bodmin in photos while enjoying festive food and drink at the station, which will be beautifully decorated for the season.
Relaxed visits: Quiet Santa trains for those who may find traditional festive events overwhelming take place at 10am on the 7th and 21st December 2025.

An immersive storytelling experience for the whole family, visit the Cornwall Museum this December for a unique Father Christmas experience. Follow Lowen the Elf through the museum on a special journey, brought to life through captivating light, projection, and song. Enjoy the whimsical tale of how a gathering of Cornish choughs saves Christmas, with the end of the journey bringing you to a secret office where the kids will meet Father Christmas himself and receive a small gift.

Winter Wonderland returns to Cornwall, and with it comes Santa’s grotto. Santa and his happy elves will welcome children and families into their grotto, filled to the brim with sparkling Christmas lights and festive decorations. Kids can share their hopes and wishes, and will then receive a small present to take home. There will be a postbox ready for your child’s letters to Santa, so don’t forget to bring them along for posting! Winter Wonderland is a fantastic event, full of fairground rides, food and drink stalls, and a real ice rink, so we highly recommend enjoying the full experience!

Fancy starting your day with a Father Christmas experience? Book a Breakfast with Santa Experience at Trelawney Garden Centre and tuck into a delicious breakfast with the elves and Father Christmas. He’ll tell a heart-warming story about the North Pole, and each child will take away a lovely little gift. On offer is a hearty Santa’s Full Festive Fry Up, a tasty portion of Elf’s Benedict, and the sweet and sticky Reindeer Pancake Stack with warm cranberry hot honey.
If breakfast isn’t your family’s thing, then visit Santa’s grotto instead. You’ll begin at the North Pole, where the elves will help kids mix their own reindeer food for sprinkling on Christmas Eve. Next, you’ll head to Santa’s living room to meet the jolly man himself. Kids can choose a toy to take home from the present room, and the option is there for a professional photo that can be purchased at the end.

Meet Santa at the Cornwall Christmas Market 2025. This market has it all, from musical carol singers to delicious street food to tempting gift stalls, plus Santa Claus himself. He and his reindeer will be there to say hello to kids and their grown-ups, ready to listen to wish lists and festive hopes. For an additional cost added onto the market ticket price, you can get a photo with Santa in his truly beautiful grotto, taken on your camera or device.
